450 litres of spurious milk seized in raid

Sangrur : Health and police officials in a joint raid claimed to have arrested one person with 450 litres of spurious milk from a house in Guru Teg Bahadur Colony on Kakkarwal Road in Dhuri, about 15 km from here, today. Three other members of the family are absconding.

They also seized 469 kg dry milk powder, 100 kg glucose, 12 kg desi ghee, 7 kg Vanaspati ghee and 15 kg refined oil being used to prepare spurious milk.

Harinder Singh, Station House Officer (SHO), Dhuri, said a case had been registered against four members of the family. Gagandeep Kumar was arrested, while his father Yudhister, his mother Kanta Devi and his wife Neha are at large. District Health Officer Dr Kulwinder Singh and Food Safety Officer Sandeep Sandhu were also present at the spot.
