CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu dairy development minister K T Rajenthra Bhalaji continued to take up cudgels against unnamed private milk companies. On Monday, after a brief discussion with chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Bhalaji told reporters that the chief minister has advised him to take stern action against milk companies indulging in adulteration.
Chemicals like formaldehyde, hydrogen peroxide and urea are available freely in cities like Chennai, Madurai, Trichy and Coimbatore. "In Chennai, these chemicals can be purchased for Rs20 from Flower Bazaar. We have sent samples of private companies' milk to various state laboratories.
