Dairy owner fined Rs 2 lakh for selling adulterated milk

MANSA: To check the sale of adulterated milk, Mansa additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Gurpreet Singh Khaira has imposed a fine Rs 2 lakh on a dairy owner. Khaira slapped the fine on the dairy owner in the ex-officio capacity of adjudicating officer, Food and Safety Standard Act, for selling adulterated and spurious milk.

Mansa food safety officer Sanjay Katyal said a team of the health department had raided the residence of Satpal in Budhlada town, where he was running a milk dairy, a few days ago. "The team found Satpal selling adulterated milk and refined cooking oil. A case was registered against him under Food Safety Act and the court of the adjudicating officer levied a fined of Rs 2 lakh on the violator," he said.
